The backlink monitor is sold on its own and works for any website on the internet — links you bought on somebody else’s blog, links to a client’s site, links to a domain you have not built yet. Create an account, choose “No hosting needed”, and it is in your menu straight away. Questions people ask

Do I need a hosting plan?

No. The backlink monitor is sold on its own and works for links on any website, whether or not you host anything with us.

Do you only check links on sites I host with you?

No — any page on the public web. Most people use it for links they bought elsewhere, which is exactly the point.

What counts against my monthly allowance?

Only backlink profile refreshes. Watching and re-checking individual links costs you nothing, however often you do it, because we fetch those pages ourselves.

How quickly will I know a link has gone?

You choose per link: daily, weekly or monthly. On daily you will know within a day, in one e-mail that covers everything that changed.

Will it e-mail me about every single link?

Never. It is one message per day at most, listing everything that changed. If 400 links go overnight you get one e-mail that says so, not 400.

What if the anchor text is changed rather than the link removed?

That is reported as “changed”, with the old and new anchor text and the exact time. The same goes for a link that is repointed at a different page or made nofollow.

Can I watch a competitor’s backlink profile?

Yes. A profile can be any domain at all.

Can I get the data out?

Yes — CSV export of your links and of any profile’s referring domains, plus a full REST API if you want to pull it into your own reporting.

Can I cancel?

Nothing renews automatically. We e-mail you before it ends, and your links, domains and all their history stay on your account whether you renew or not.
