There are two ways to run a shop with us. On a WordPress site you already have here, tick Add WooCommerce and we install it for you – free. For a real, busy shop there is a WooCommerce money site plan with much larger allowances, on separate infrastructure from the PBN network.
💡 It really is free
Adding WooCommerce to a WordPress site on your PBN hosting costs nothing extra. It is not an add-on and there is nothing to buy: it is a tick box on the site’s page.
The free tick
- Open the site from your sites list.
- Find the WooCommerce card and press Add WooCommerce (free).
- Wait a minute or two. We install and activate the plugin in the background and e-mail you when the shop is ready – you can close the page.
- Finish the WooCommerce setup wizard in your WordPress admin: currency, payment methods and shipping. Those are yours to choose, so we do not guess them for you.
The tick only appears on WordPress sites, because WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin. On a Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, OpenCart or static site the card says so and points you at the shop-sized plan instead.
The health checks that keep running
A shop that half works costs you orders, so we keep checking yours every hour and show you the result on the same card:
- WooCommerce is active – a deactivated plugin means no shop at all.
- Shop, cart and checkout pages exist – without them a customer cannot buy.
- A currency is set – prices need one before an order can be taken.
- Pretty permalinks are on – WooCommerce needs them for product and cart URLs.
- The site is on HTTPS – a checkout must be encrypted.
- Cart and checkout are not cached – this is the classic shop fault: a cached cart can show one shopper another shopper’s basket.
Switching it off again
Press Switch WooCommerce off on the same card. We deactivate the plugin and leave your products and orders in the database, so you can switch it back on later and find everything where you left it.
When you need the shop-sized plan
A shop is heavier than a blog: product images, a database that grows with every order, and checkout traffic that must never be cached. If your shop is real – you are advertising it, you take orders every day, or the catalogue runs to hundreds of products – move it to the WooCommerce money-site plan.
- Much more disk, files and object storage, for product images and media.
- Room for the visits a shop actually gets.
- Staging and push to live, so you try a change before customers see it.
- A Redis object cache and advanced caching tuned so the cart and checkout stay out of it.
- Separate infrastructure from the PBN network.
