For sites on Cloudflare, the page cache serves your pages to visitors from the CDN’s own servers, so the site loads faster and keeps working under heavy traffic.
💡 On by default
The page cache is switched on for Cloudflare sites. You only need to touch it if your site shows different content to different visitors without them logging in.
Where to find it
Open the site’s page → Security tab → Cache pages at Cloudflare. Only the site owner can change it.
What is never cached
Logged-in users, the WordPress dashboard, login, comments, carts, checkout and account pages are never cached, and neither are error pages.
Seeing a change straight away
A cached page is refreshed within an hour. After editing a page, use Purge cache on the site’s page to show the change at once.
When to turn it off
Turn it off if the site shows different content to different visitors without WordPress accounts – for example a membership or shop plugin with its own logins. Turning it off also empties the cache.
