Page Builder Sandwich – More Free Features

Page Builder Sandwich – More Free Features

More of what the free Page Builder Sandwich plugin does (the start is in Page Builder Sandwich – what the plugin does).

💡 All free
Everything on this page is in the free plugin.

Templates and cloud library

  • Template library — Ready-made sections and full pages. Some are free; the full library comes with Pro.
  • Save as reusable pattern — Any section can be saved as a WordPress pattern (synced or not).
  • Starter kits in Free, Pro kits shown greyed out — Free includes about 20 complete kits. Every Pro kit is visible with a preview and a ‘Go Pro’ upsell (allowed by WordPress.org rules as long as nothing in the free plugin is locked code). Owner: the free set MUST include an iGaming kit and a PBN-style kit.

Accessibility

  • Accessibility checker — Checks contrast, headings, image alt text, link text and keyboard access as you build, with fixes. Elementor charts for this; we don’t.
  • Accessible by default — Skip links, focus styles, proper labels on tabs/accordions/sliders, and reduced-motion support are built in.

Workflow and agency

  • Revisions and history — See and restore earlier versions of any page or template.
  • Import and export — Move templates, kits and settings between sites as files.

AI inside the builder

  • Write and rewrite text — Write, shorten, expand, change tone or fix grammar for any text block. Uses your own AI key.
  • Generate a section from a sentence — Describe it (“pricing section with 3 plans”) and get real, editable blocks in your brand style.
  • SEO and alt text helper — Writes meta titles and descriptions straight into Yoast/Rank Math/SEOPress/AIOSEO, and alt text for every image.

Developers

  • Register your own blocks and controls — Documented PHP and JavaScript APIs to add blocks, style controls, dynamic data sources, display conditions and form actions.
  • Hooks and filters everywhere — Documented actions and filters for rendering, saving, assets and the editor, following modern WordPress conventions.
  • REST API and WP-CLI — Manage templates, regenerate CSS and run imports from the command line or other apps.
  • Developer docs and starter kit — A public docs site, TypeScript types and an example add-on plugin to copy.
  • Old developer API still supported — Third-party add-ons written for the old pbsAddInspector/pbs_shortcodes API keep working through a compatibility layer.

More blocks

  • Content blocks — Pull quote, code with syntax highlighting, footnotes, dual/gradient heading, highlighted text, drop cap, tooltip, badge, info box, feature list, steps/process, checklist, comparison table, glossary, modal and off-canvas panels.
  • Utility blocks — Related posts, post meta, HTML sitemap, reading progress, QR code, contact buttons (call/email/WhatsApp), WhatsApp chat button, booking embeds (Calendly, Cal.com), password-protected content, user profile.
  • More icon sets — Font Awesome (free set), Lucide, Material Symbols and Phosphor, all loaded as individual SVGs, never whole icon fonts.

More features

  • Command palette and keyboard shortcuts — Press Ctrl/Cmd+K to add blocks, jump to pages or run actions without the mouse.
  • Autosave and crash recovery — Work is saved every few seconds; a closed tab or crash never loses edits.
  • Safe mode — Temporarily disables other plugins in the editor only, to find conflicts without breaking the live site.
